Having received it's 3rd star in 2020, sketch has reached new heights in their fine dining experience.
Is it worth it? Yes.
With a tasting menu for £120, I think it's a steal. The server reminded us that their a la carte menu is where the chef really shines. However, the options were too vast and just too confusing for us to choose. Therefore, we opted for the tasting menu.
The first little bites were great. It's amazing how they can pack so much flavor into a tiny bite. New flavor profiles I haven't tasted before just surging through your tastebuds.
Most of the dishes were executed perfectly. Even so, there weren't anything that haven't eaten at a 3 star establishment. At least not flavor wise.
For £120 the value is there. The experience dining at a 3 star is there. Food was there but just make a note, nothing was truly magical. Just delicious. -

Reservation a must a week or two in advance
I was lucky i came early morning and was able to walk in to have a quick breakfast
There are 4 rooms in the restaurant I don't know if all the menus are the same
Everyone wants to go to the pink room which is overrated I believe for pictures
I don't recall the room I was in but they had a jam strawberry homemade they don't sell that's amazing ask for it
Delicious
I wanted one of everything
They have good choices and great food -

Perfection in concept! What a cool and upscale place for a sweet 16 birthday party! Of their several rooms, we stayed I. The Edge, a forest themed dining area with a fantastic and intimate setting. The wine was choice as was the 3 course meal.
Look, let's face it: the restaurant is made for a certain "strata" of people. But, it does tend to diminish a bit when you see it. The concept is crazy cool. The food was very good and the wine list Lady Grantham would have approved of (Ending my sentence with a preposition).
Frankly, the place was very, very cool. The concepts were out of this world and worth going to see. The bathroom was worth it by itself. I loved the attempt and the concept. It beat the shit out of anything states-side. Honestly feel that royalty would now avoid this place because it's become popular. Bur they would be sad.... -

I truly feel this place reflects my inner spirit. Pink, shiny and delicious lol
I can't tell you how much research I put into finding the perfect high tea experience. I have a list of nearly 40 places I need to try and I'm so glad I chose sketch for my first classy tea experience in London.
Located in a fashionable area off covent garden, sketch had the most incredible themed rooms depending if you're there for dinner, cocktails or tea.
Upon entering you're greeted by a hopscotch outline and an awesome coat checking station for your bags.
The tea room is plush, pink, and surrounded by modern/pop art. They had love violinists and the tea sommeliers walk around in top hats and pink outfits. The waiters are so kind and add a flair to anything they do. Ours overheard we were celebrating a birthday and made sure it being out a treat(also let me keep the Sketch menu as a favor)
The food is to die for and you're offered unlimited tea & sandwiches . I personally chose this place for the decor and the savories !
We chose the £77 champagne the (Rosé), which was nice but I was so stuffed I probably could have done without! Your courses are served as follows:
1. Caviar and egg cream
2. Savories and tiered desserts
3. Scones (original OR raisin) with Irish cream and jam (my fave was the raspberry not blackberry)
4. Lemon sponge cake
** they offer additional sandwiches- so order your fave AND the tea is unlimited - we liked the riot punch and vanilla bourbon (milk no cream)
You'll probably have to take some cake home in Their fancy bags :-) they also sell their teas sets and flatware. -

Hard to rate, food wise - it was fine but really really overpriced. The atmosphere - loved the bar area but the restaurant is not as grand as I had heard and was hyped. Yes it pink and pretty but the walls were just lined with large art that wasn't all that pretty or inspiring, just unusual but more something I'd expect at a fun place rather than a dress to the nines place.. or as we were told, "art smart" is the dress code.
I got the veal ravioli and I did eat alllll of it as it was enjoyable. But the starter salad was salty and not good at all. The desert was just average at best, not sweet chocolate which is fine, but the filling or layers were just not something I enjoyed.
The price for 3 people is the equivalent to $345 US. Shocking seeing as we didn't order wine or anything like that.
The bathroom is listed somewhere as the "most photographed on Instagram" okay so it's really unusual, but also just odd with the rest of the setting. Birds chirp while in the egg shaped stall. Men and women wander looking for one not in use. Just odd, and yes cool in a way but I don't know what else to say here.
I know they say the experience is part of it, but this just wasn't my thing and I could have spent that money and time on many other cool places to see in London.
Btw... reservations are required and if you don't show you're charged 30 pounds per person in the reservation. And you are required to order and starter and a main. Just so you know.
